Mama to be times 3 (part 1)

I met up with this sweet Mama this time last year with her then one year old son to take maternity photos; fast forward one year and she was back, expecting another April baby (whose gender is a surprise!). Here is part 1 of the shoot; just mommy and belly. Part 2 will have shots of big brothers in waiting :)

All God's Children Ministry Spring Photo Shoot

A while ago, my longtime friend and Treasure the Rain blogger Cassi approached me about working with the sweet kids in her ministry group to provide an affordable, relaxed, and comfortable photoshoot. After some brainstorming, we decided that doing mini sessions at the church would be the best way and scheduled a Saturday in March. I won't lie, I was kind of hoping for some pretty bulbs blooming and pink flower blossoms against a spring sky... but the choir room worked nicely too. First up was a sweet family of 5 with two brothers and big sister, then a another mama with 3 sweet little ones just opposite: two sisters and baby brother, THEN sweet little guy at the end who just lit up the studio during his generations photo with Dad and Grandpa. His cute poses were cracking me up! Everyone seemed to have a great time :)

Cassi, thank you for the opportunity to do this! CD's are in the mail!

Sweet little baby Paxton

I was so excited to capture little Paxton's newborn photos a couple of weeks ago! His mom is a friend of mine from high school so it was fun to reconnect and talk "Mommy Shop" while snapping some adorable photos of her new little guy! Due to an illness that swept my household, I had to hold off on meeting him until he was two weeks old but he still did GREAT in all of the cuddly newborn poses :) I love capturing new chapters in people's lives!

Featured! On Never a Plain Jane

I was sooooo excited a few weeks ago when Janice of Never a Plain Jane contacted me to do a feature interview about my photography business! Janice heard of me because she wrote a story about my 2011 bride turned friend Suzannah from Adventures in Dressmaking which featured wedding photos which I of course had taken. Exciting stuff! I admit, I was completely nervous about being interviewed for some reason, but the nervousness was unnecessary. Janice wrote a beautiful piece that really describes my business and my photography philosophy perfectly. Mommy in Waiting

My sweet cousin Jessica, who six years ago was one of my first senior portrait sessions contacted me recently about taking her maternity photos! I am so excited for her to go through this experience and to capture her pregnancy on camera (and soon her little baby boy!). I love the fun shots we were able to get with this new little one's future aunts and cousin. These girls always crack me up, and this session was no exception! Enjoy your sneak peek!
